The Old Forge Farm Shop and Café was opened in Berwick St James by Sam Shipley-Baker in March 2023, having taken over the premises in February '23 from Marilyn Wood. Sam ran the Little Green Village Shop in Durrington from July 2019 to December 2022 before moving the business to Berwick.
The shop focuses on eco-friendly produce by striving to reduce food wastage and has a small refill section to cut down on single use plastic waste. This includes houshold products, such as washing-up liquid, laundry liquid, and a wide selection of dried goods, such as lentils, nuts, muesli, etc. We also frequently sell a variety of very popular home-made "specials". Our range of meat products including sausages come from Kinghams Butchers in Amesbury on a daily basis, and an ordering service is also provided.
Attached to the shop in a quirky old barn is their dog-friendly café, where the staff serve full english breakfasts, delicious coffee, cakes, and light lunches. The Old Forge Farm Shop is also part of the Chatty Café Scheme, which is held in the café every Wednesday morning between 10:00 & 12:00am. Click on this link if you want to find out more.
